Princess Gretchen

Item Description

Do you need a little princess magic in your life? Gretchen would love to show you the lovely new crown perched atop her sugar pink hair.
She also loves to dance and practice her high wire skills. Her habit of stringing a line between the trees alongside Miss Delilah's Home for Wayward Girls has caused much excitement in the village and unheard-of traffic jams have formed as people stop to watch her impromptu performances.

Standing 12 1/2" (32cm) tall, Gretchen is cut from my original pattern, made of cotton canvas stuffed with polyester filling, then given several coats of gesso & acrylic paint accented with pastels & pencil before an oil glaze and sealant are applied.
She wears a skirt of vintage black lace trimmed at the waist with broad black satin ribbon &ivory lace which matches her puff sleeves. Beneath her tutu she sports rather racy black lace-trimmed bloomers and scarlet stockings. Her hair, which is firmly stitched in place, is crewel wool in a beautiful shade of soft sugar pink. Her arms, which do move, are stitched in place with strong linen thread, as are her legs.
To the back of her neck is stitched a small brass ring by which Gretchen can be displayed upon a wall.

Gretchen will arrive carefully boxed along with her personal storybook, ready for gifting or simply spoiling yourself.
