Emerging between midwinter & Epiphany, Perchta comes to punish slovenliness (with nightmares or a little disembowelling) but also to reward hard work & good deeds. She watches over the souls of the unborn, makes grain grow...& rides at the head of the Wild Hunt. Quite the busy witch, indeed, but consistent in her promise of freedom & happiness for the persistent.

18" (46cm) tall when standing, 10" (25.5cm) when seated, Perchta is handsewn using recycled fabrics, vintage lace & filled with merino wool waste - all as sustainable as can be.  Her high-necked blouse & gathered wool skirt recall the folk dress of her native mountains - & the long skirt also helps hids that pesky goose foot...
